JetBlue has long been known for its innovative approach to air travel, consistently pushing the boundaries to offer a premium experience at an accessible price. With the introduction of the Mint service, JetBlue redefined domestic business class travel, providing a level of luxury and comfort typically reserved for international flights.

Now, with the launch of the refreshed Mint Suites, JetBlue is taking its commitment to excellence even further. In our review, we will explore the main differences between the classic Mint service and the new Mint Suites, highlighting what makes these new suites a standout choice for discerning travelers.

JetBlue Mint Classic

JetBlue Mint Classic was introduced to redefine domestic business class by offering a luxurious flying experience at a competitive price. Since its launch, it has set a high standard for comfort, service, and amenities in the premium travel sector.

Cabin and Seat Configuration

The Mint Classic cabin features a mix of lie-flat seats and private suites. The lie-flat seats are arranged in a 2-2 configuration, providing ample space and comfort for all passengers.

Additionally, some seats are configured as private suites in a 1-1 configuration, offering added privacy and exclusivity. Each seat includes features such as adjustable firmness settings, ample legroom, and direct aisle access for most seats.

Aircrafts & Routes

JetBlue Mint Classic is available on select Airbus A321 aircraft, specifically designed for long-haul flights. The primary routes for Mint Classic include transcontinental flights within the United States, such as New York to Los Angeles and San Francisco, as well as some international destinations in the Caribbean and Latin America. These routes have been carefully chosen to cater to business and leisure travelers looking for a premium experience on longer flights.

JetBlue Mint Suites

The new JetBlue Mint Suites represent a significant upgrade from the classic Mint service, designed to offer an even higher level of privacy, comfort, and luxury. These suites introduce fully enclosed spaces with sliding doors, providing an unmatched level of seclusion and tranquility.

Unlike Mint Classic, where only a few seats were configured as private suites, all business class seats in the new Mint Suites are private suites, ensuring every passenger enjoys this enhanced experience. The main differences between Mint Classic and Mint Suites include enhanced privacy features, larger and more comfortable seats, and advanced in-flight entertainment options.

Cabin and Seat Configuration

The Mint Suites cabin features a 1-1 configuration, ensuring every passenger enjoys direct aisle access and maximum privacy. Each suite is equipped with a lie-flat seat that converts into a fully flat bed, offering memory foam cushions and customizable firmness settings for optimal comfort. The suites also include sliding doors, adjustable ambient lighting, and ample storage space, creating a personal sanctuary for each traveler.

JetBlue Mint Studio

In addition to the Mint Suites, JetBlue has introduced the Mint Studio, which offers even more space and luxury. Located in the first row of the Mint cabin, the Mint Studio provides extra room to stretch out and includes a larger 22-inch screen, a guest seat for in-flight visitors, and additional storage space.

The Mint Studio is designed for travelers seeking the utmost in comfort and exclusivity, making it an ideal choice for those who want the best of the best in business class travel.

Aircrafts & Routes

The new Mint Suites are available on the Airbus A321neo and select Airbus A321LR aircraft, which are used for both transcontinental and international routes. Key routes include major transcontinental flights such as New York to Los Angeles and San Francisco, as well as international destinations in the Caribbean, Latin America, and Europe. These expanded routes provide more opportunities for travelers to experience the upgraded Mint Suites on a variety of long-haul flights.

In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity

The new Mint Suites feature significantly larger high-definition touchscreen monitors, measuring 17 inches, while the Mint Studio offers an even larger 22-inch screen. These screens provide a more immersive viewing experience, allowing passengers to enjoy a wide selection of movies, TV shows, music, and games in stunning clarity.

Both Mint Classic and the new Mint Suites offer JetBlue's Fly-Fi service, providing free high-speed Wi-Fi to all passengers. The new Mint Suites come with upgraded connectivity features, ensuring faster and more reliable internet access. Passengers can expect speeds of up to 20 Mbps, which allows for seamless streaming, browsing, and working online throughout the flight.

Dining Experience

JetBlue Mint has always been renowned for its exceptional in-flight dining, and the new Mint Suites continue to elevate this experience. JetBlue collaborates with Delicious Hospitality Group, known for their acclaimed New York City restaurants such as Charlie Bird and Legacy Records, to curate its Mint menu. This collaboration ensures a gourmet dining experience at 36,000 feet.

Passengers in JetBlue Mint can enjoy a selection of small plates, allowing them to sample a variety of dishes. Each passenger can choose three plates from a mix of five options, including both chilled and hot dishes. The menus are refreshed every two months and vary based on the route. For example, breakfast options might include chilled poached pears with tarragon or avocado toast, while lunch and dinner menus offer dishes like wedge salad with lemon buttermilk dressing and lamb shoulder with tomato conserva.

The beverage program in JetBlue Mint is equally impressive, featuring complimentary beverages such as espresso drinks, wine, beer, mocktails, and cocktails. Highlights include unique cocktails like the "mint condition" (a blend of gin or vodka with ginger, lime, cucumber, and mint) and the "al pastor margarita" (tequila with pineapple, chile, and lime). Premium liquors like Tito’s vodka and Bombay Sapphire gin are also available.

Amenities

The new JetBlue Mint Suites offer premium amenity kits designed to enhance the passenger's comfort and overall flight experience. These kits include high-quality skincare products, luxurious sleep masks, and other essential items that cater to the needs of discerning travelers. Each kit is thoughtfully curated to ensure that passengers feel pampered and refreshed throughout their journey.

Comfort is taken to a new level with memory foam cushions featuring customizable firmness settings. These seats convert into fully lie-flat beds, ensuring a restful sleep or a comfortable lounging position. The adjustable ambient lighting allows passengers to create a relaxing atmosphere tailored to their preferences, whether they wish to read, work, or sleep.

The Mint Suites are designed with ample storage space, making it easy for passengers to keep their personal items organized and within reach. This thoughtful design element ensures that everything from laptops to personal care items can be stored conveniently, enhancing the overall travel experience.

Lounge Access

One of the key differences between JetBlue Mint and first class on other domestic airlines is lounge access. Unlike many airlines that operate their own branded lounges, JetBlue does not have any dedicated lounges for its passengers. This means that Mint passengers do not have a separate waiting area provided by JetBlue itself.

However, Mint passengers can still enjoy premium lounge facilities if they have access to partner lounges through other memberships. Common options include Priority Pass and American Express Centurion Lounges. These lounges offer a comfortable and relaxing environment before the flight, even though they are not specifically operated by JetBlue.
